Our Latest Embroidered Monogram Bath Towel Sets

We don't have towels on hand, but this is the second towel set that was ordered by a fellow business group member. I really like the softness and the beauty of these towels.

The first set of towels was for him and his girlfriend. The letter style was block as seen here.

This time, they couldn't choose between block letters or cursive font. After sending them images of the stitched out font from our software program, they decided on Sharadee font. The initials T and C, look fabulous stitched out in gray.

When I dropped these towels to the customer's mother, she was very impressed. Little did she know that our business group decided to give her, her own set. You see, Marsha recently got married and we wanted to give her a set. She told me after opening up her gift, that when she saw the towels pictured above, that she wanted a set for her new home.

Sharing...A Great Idea For The Local Birds-Birdseed Wreath

I thought that this birdseed wreath was a terrific idea. I for one enjoy the local birds. Some are noisy like the wild parrots that fly overhead, but we should think of creating something that they can enjoy.

A Day At The LA County Fair

Last Friday, I spent the day with my oldest son at the LA County Fair. We walked every inch of the fair and I put in over 17,000 steps in that day. I enjoyed looking at all of the baby animals and of course, I have to look at all the handmade quilts, outfits, and sewing machines. We were fortunate that on this day, they were getting the Budweiser Clydesdale horses ready for a parade. Budweiser was getting signatures from people pledging not to drive drunk.

Of course, I have to post all the pictures of the animals and chicken coops.

An Unique Gift Wrapping For House Warming, Birthday, Etc.

Well....I had a gift to give our daughter-in-law, but no wrapping paper. I made her a vintage style apron (sorry no picture) using this cute fabric, but didn't have any wrapping paper. I remembered our son telling me that our daughter-in-law likes lighthouses, so I embroidered this cute lighthouse towel. I used the towel to wrap her apron and tied a cute and simple bow.

Not only is it practical, it saves our trees, and creates an unique way to wrap a small package.

Country N' More Making Pattern From Old Favorite Apron

One of my customers had an apron that she really liked wearing but it was just worn out. The customer sent us her old apron and chose the fabric that she wanted for her new apron. A pattern was made from the apron and we were on our way to creating that new apron for this customer. By the way, this apron was reversible. When we received the apron, we were not sure how we were going to make another apron, since it had armholes and was reversible. After much thought, we just came up with our own method for stitching the apron together.

Roger Red Grape Juice

Well....I came back from a short trip to find two large bowls of grapes waiting for me. My son noticed that the grapes were ready to be picked. Knowing that we like our grapes, our son just didn't want to see the birds fly off with any more of the grapes. The birds were landing on the bushes and flying away with branches filled with grapes.

I normally would make jelly, but since my husband liked the fresh juice last year, I decided to juice them again this year. This year's crop is about 30-60 percent less than previous years.

It always amazes me that there is so much juice left after running the grapes through the juice extractor. I think it is because there are so many small seeds in these blueberry size grapes.

Monogrammed Bathroom Towel Set for New Home

I was asked if I could monogram bathroom towels for his new place. The A is for his girlfriend and his of course is the letter C.

This was a challenge because he didn't know what font he wanted, but finally decided on the font I used. The letters were to be embroidered between the bars on the bottom of the towel.

The Bear & His Honey Embroidered Kitchen Towel by countrynmore.com

I was asked to make a custom embroidered kitchen towel, by a fellow business member. This towel is for a wedding gift. The husband's nickname is Bear and the wife's nickname is Honey.

This custom towel was her idea. I just helped created a design with those ideas in mind. I first sent her the pdfs of the different font styles along with the embroidered honey pot. She wanted the wedding date on the honey pot, so that was added.

Once I get approval for the design, I then will stitch it up. The thing about creating personalized and custom products is that a customer will not find anything like it in the store. There will not be 100 other towels or aprons with the same design.

The Pros And Cons of Having People Set Off Fireworks

We live about 1 block from where the coyotes enter from the Arroyo. It is not uncommon to see them on our street on a nightly basis looking for an easy target. Last night as the fireworks were going off all around us, my husband noticed that a coyote was running back towards the Arroyo. My guess was that it was trying to get away from all the noise. The only problem is that the coyote will be back.

Not only are people getting injured from setting off fireworks, they are also setting things on fire. Last night was the first time in living here for 32 years, that we have had an incident as a result of those fireworks. Someone threw some sort of firework in the middle of the street. The next thing we know is that our neighbor is ringing our doorbell. There was a fire at the top of our street. Fortunately for the homeowner, is that the local fire department was close and that it was an Italian Cypress that was lit up like the 4th of July and not their house. We had 7 sheriffs and the local fire department.

An upside is that we can see the fireworks from the Rose Bowl. Not the best seat in the house, but still nice. I took more videos, but this was the finale.

Latest custom embroidered aprons

I belong to a business group, which meets once a week. One of the members asked if I could make an apron for her boyfriend's dad. Her dad was in the military, so they wanted an embroidered dog tag on the apron. I was also asked if I could make an apron for her boyfriend's stepmother. Jane likes anything feminine, so I added heart shaped eyelet trim around the apron and the pockets. Since the stitched out design of the letter J didn't have both black and white, I embroidered it on white fabric. This was then turned into a pocket that Jane could put her cell phone in, if she wanted to.

These aprons turned out so cute.

PS...the customer sent me a picture of the cute couple. I will post it after I get permission to do so.
