Farewell Cotati, CA Our Favorite Places To Eat

We have been visiting Cotati, CA off and on, because that is where our son lived while attending SSU.

Below are the favorite places. There are not too many places to really eat in Cotati, but if you ever are up that way, I highly suggest visiting them.

Our all time favorite and that of the town is Marvin's Restaurant. Marvins is located at 7991 Old Highway, in Cotati, CA. They open up at 6 am, but if you plan on going there in the late afternoon or evening, then you are out of luck. Marvin's Restaurant closes at 3 pm. This place is busy especially in the mornings for breakfast. You will leave happy and that is for sure. Our all time favorite is the veggie omelet. The veggie omelet comes with home fries or hash browns and I suggest getting the biscuit instead of the toast. The biscuit is so flaky and oh, so good. You can choose to use their fresh jams to spread on your biscuit. We also enjoy getting the pancakes. These pancakes are large in size and they are so tasty. Be sure to also to get their freshly squeezed orange juice and pick up a day old muffin if there are any of the muffins left.

Now, if you have an inkling for something frozen yogurt, then we highly recommend Swirl Time. They did a special on tv about frozen yogurt. Swirl Time makes all of their own yogurt, sugar cones, and they use fresh fruit for toppings. Of course, there are the usual sweet candies to top it off. Karen is the owner and my son visited this place often, since it was homemade and right across from SSU. Swirl Time is located at 1718 E Cotati Ave, Rohnert Park, CA 94928

Now, nestled in the old part of this small town called Cotati, is a true gem of a pizza joint. This pizza is a bustling hot spot for the people living and visiting Cotati. Sal's New Yorker Pizzeria is located at 8270 Old Redwood Hwy in Cotati. They make their own dough, pizza sauce, etc. On Tuesdays, children can make their own pizza for $10.

 We had the Margherita pizza
and... spinach salad

Now, we have two Mexican restaurants. Mi Ranchito is also a favorite place for visitors and residents as well. We happen to go the evening of our son's commencement. This place is normally crowded and this in particular was even busier than usual. Families were celebrating commencements and graduations. I forgot to take a picture of the delicious homemade guacamole. Yummy! Mi Ranchito is located at 7600 Commerce Blvd, Cotati, CA 94931

After packing our our son's belongings and loading the moving truck, we were tired and very hungry. Our son has gone to this small Mexican restaurant called Tacqueria Sol Azteca

For those individuals who like to drink or like bars (not for me because I don't drink alcohol), but there is a bar that opened up recently. It is right off of Cotati Ave (in Oliver's Market parking lot). It is called Jaded Toad BBQ and Grill.

Latest custom aprons from www.countrynmore.com

I was asked if I could make an apron for Lee and one for Muriel. Turns out that after ordering the aprons, they became engaged. So happy for them.

Love this: Lee's apron said ...Lee with the two intertwining hearts
Muriel's apron said....and Me, with the two same hearts

I used fringe blue by Robinson Anton. Love this color against the navy blue apron background. My aprons all have adjustable neck straps with two metal D rings.

Today, they sent me a picture. They make such a cute couple. Of course, I asked if I could post it here and she said, "Yes."

Cute As A Button Personalized Pullover Bib for Eva

This is for a sweet little baby girl named Eva. Just love this. I already had the bib stitched out. Eva's father wanted his sweet little girl's name on the bib. This is what we came up with.

Personalized Baby Bib & Matching Burp Cloth or Pad

The matching bib that keeps the pacifier readily available for the young baby as well as the matching burp cloth or pad, is sure to be a HUGE hit.

I was asked by a fellow business friend about making a personalized baby gift for her friend. She didn't know whether she wanted a bib that holds a pacifier or a burp pad. Her friend is purchasing one of these items for the expectant mother.

I had this cute Mother Goose print fabric that is no longer available for sale in stores or on line.

She didn't know the name for the little baby boy, so she wanted the last name embroidered on the baby gifts.

Here they are. I will be making more. If anyone wants one that is personalized, please let me know. You can contact me through our website: www.countrynmore.com

Oh, I haven't forgotten about the cute baby girls. This burp cloth was made using an adorable baby shoe print on a light pink back ground. We embroidered Emma using a heart font. The personalized burp cloth turned out as cute as can be.

Customer Feedback for Country N' More

Over a week ago, I received a call from a wonderful woman. She wanted a custom cobbler apron, but wanted it really custom. No problem, that is what custom is all about. The apron below was made 2 inches longer, plus she wanted button straps instead of ties, as well as a loop on the back for hanging up her apron. She would be my tester as I really liked this different version for my cobbler aprons. Well...I heard from her the same day that she received her new apron. It was perfect. I am not trying to brag, but we designed this apron over the phone. I am certainly going to add them to our on line catalog in the near future. Each side had a button. Love this.

I just had another customer call. The customer had purchased an apron back in February by calling our toll free number. Another happy customer. This customer said that they were pleased with the quality and how well made the apron was. I mentioned to a fellow networking business member this morning that I wanted to make quality products. If I made poor quality products, the customers would not order from me again. So many items are mass produced and the quality is just not there. The aprons shrink or fall apart. This customer wanted to know if I made house coats. I have been asked this so many times, but have not had the opportunity to make them. I probably should because as stated above, the mass produced products just don't wear well. I have been sewing for over 45 years and turned my sewing passion into a business back in 1996. It is hard to believe that it has been 20 years ago already.

countrynmore.com Catalog

A question that we often get is, "Do you have a catalog? If so, could you send me one?"  Since we don't mass produce our aprons, an item that is featured in a printed catalog may not be available when the customer received the catalog. We strive to provide quality cobbler aprons and other fine products. Our regular customers know that they will not find 10, 20, 50, or 100 aprons like the one that they find our on our website www.countrynmore.com. This is what makes us stand out from others. We have had customers say, "I saw this apron a few weeks ago, but now it shows that it is sold out." Sometimes, we can make another one and sometimes we can't. Customers can also create unique one-of-a-kind aprons through our custom site by choosing amongst our 600 plus fabrics.

Custom Reversible Cobbler Aprons

Customers can choose from over 600 different fabrics to create an unique one-of-a-kind apron, whether it is a barbecue or a cobbler apron. The aprons can be made in sizes small to plus size. A new customer requested custom cobbler aprons. While some customers choose two different prints, some choose to have the same fabric on both sides, which is not unusual. This is one of those customers. I try to match up the designs between the main apron and the pocket on the cobbler aprons. With the barbecue aprons it is more difficult to accomplish. I do not surge edges. I have seen some aprons with exposed shoulder seams. The shoulder seams have been surged. My aprons are completely reversible and the customers get two aprons in one.

I really like these fabrics that the customer chose, although some are no longer available on the website for making aprons.

If you know someone who likes this popular cobbler apron style apron and they want a custom apron, they can visit our custom site at countrynmore.com.

Customers can also e-mail us if they would like another style that can not be ordered through our custom site. We have the vintage style canning aprons, etc. as seen below:

Personalized Baby Name For Blanket

From concept to finished product. The idea was drawn on a piece of paper. The customer chose a different (Curlz) instead. This will be stitched on a baby blanket. It was stitched on white satin. I had a piece of satin, but I didn't like that I could see through it. I decided to find a thicker satin fabric.

The boy's name is going to be Theo.

Apple And Blood Orange Trees

Well...back in August, I harvested the apples from our Fuji apple tree. Thought that I was done for the year. Then...I noticed blossoms again on the apple tree. It was because of the warm weather I suppose. Today, I noticed a new crop of apples on the tree. These apples are not large like our regular crop, rather they are very small in size.

Our small blood orange tree has produced over 40 large oranges.

Pumpkin Cheesecake From Scratch

My family is now wanting me to make homemade pumpkin cheesecake. When I made the cheesecake for Thanksgiving, I used canned pumpkin. For Christmas, I wanted to make the cheesecake from scratch. I used this pumpkin cheesecake recipe, but substituted the fresh pumpkin that I steamed in our steamer. They had a link for individuals who wanted to use fresh pumpkin. I never thought of using the steamer, but it was so easy. There were different methods to cook the pumpkin. I pureed the pumpkin in our food processor. Easy, peasy.
